H BURDEN PENSION AND LIFE ASSURANCE PLAN OVERVIEW

The Pension and Life Assurance Plan of H Burden Limited is a defined benefit pension arrangement that closed to future accrual effective from 1 May 1999.

The Trustee of the Scheme, H.Burden Pension Trustees Limited, is responsible for looking after the Plan and ensuring that the Plan is administered according to the Trust Deed and Rules. The Trustee is required to act in the interests of all members (not itself, any representative body or Unipart) and to ensure that the members are treated fairly and equally. The Board of the Trustee comprises employer nominated Trustee Directors (ENTs) and member nominated Trustee Directors (MNTs). Details on the Trustee Board can be found in the Plan Report and Accounts which are available on request from the Scheme.

DATA PROTECTION

The Trustee of the Pension and Life Assurance Plan of H Burden Limited holds personal data about members in order to correctly administer and pay benefits. Following the introduction of the Data Protection Act 2018 the Trustee is required to make available details of the data that is held, how it is used and the safeguards in place to ensure this data is protected. This information is set out in the Trustee’s Data Protection Privacy Notice, which is available under the ‘Key Documents’ section on the right hand side of this page.

COMPLAINTS AND IDRP

If you have a complaint relating to your pension benefits or the service you have received from the Scheme Administrator, you should raise your concern with the Scheme Administrator in the first instance.

If, having raised your complaint with the Scheme Administrator, you do not receive a satisfactory resolution to your complaint and remain dissatisfied, the Trustee of the Scheme has a formal Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure (IDRP) available. The aim of the IDRP is to ensure that grievances are properly investigated and any disputes are resolved correctly, fairly and in good time. There are two stages to the IDRP and the relevant documents are available under the ‘Key Documents’ section on the right hand side of this page.

In addition to the IDRP, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Pensions Ombudsman. The Pensions Ombudsman deals with complaints and disputes which concern the administration and/or management of occupational and personal pension schemes.

The Pension Ombudsman services are free to use and the contact details are:
