We wrote to pensioner members of UGPS, RBS and JVPS earlier in the Summer outlining the Capita Cyber incident (https://www.capita.com/news/update-actions-taken-resolve-cyber-incident). We had not had the specific data items exfiltrated so we wrote to all members highlighting that there was a risk that their data had been stolen.
Since this date, we have been working closely with Capita to discover which members were affected and what of their data was stolen. Unfortunately, due to the size of the Cyber Incident, and the number of affected Capita clients (c90 clients e.g. USS, M&S, Royal Mail etc…) this has been a slow process to sort and check all the stolen data. Currently, we have not yet received any meaningful update to this.
The Trustee is committed to writing out to all members when they have received this data to confirm whether their data was stolen, and what data items of theirs was affected. As soon as we have this information, we will be in touch.
